Default Ape Flex???

Hey guys, looking to see if anybody else has this issue. Installed some yaffe Monkey Bars on my 08 Street Glide. They feel loose at the top. The clamps are tourqued correct. I was thinking since they are tall and wide that there would be some flex at the top. Should i take it apart and crank the bolts down? Does anybody elses have this movement on their apes? Thanks in advance.

As mentioned...use poly bushings. Next, screw the recommended torque rating. Crank the bolts down, just MAKE SURE NOT to snap/strip them. And, get some skateboard grip tape and wrap around the bars before cranking them down. The '08s have a one piece top clamp so you are good there. Do all this and they won't budge!

Just finished mine this past weekend. You will see a huge difference with new bushings. I did mine and upgraded to the one piece clamp. (02 was a two piece clamp) Solid as a Rock now.

Default Flex

Isn't there gonna be a little flex? I added the 12" monkey bars and I have little flex in the bars when I brake. If this isn't normal let me know.
