Does anyone know if I reflash the radio with the HD do it yourself software update if this will detect that I hooked up rear speakers to pins (1-24)-(2-25) on the 35 pin connector on the back of the radio?
Or is there no choice but to have the dealer do it?
If you want the fader control on the head unit to work, you will need a dealer flash to turn that function "on" in the HK head unit. I wired the speakers in the fairing lowers as "rear" speakers and used the pin-outs you mention, but I don't recall if they sent a signal to the speakers before I brought the bike to the dealer for the flash.
Its just a matter of hooking up to Digital Tech, pulling up the radio and selecting the 4 speaker tab. Takes less than 5 minutes. We wouldnt charge for it, well I wouldnt, some of the techs would want to.
