One of the smartest things I ever did was installing a garage door opener behind my fairing. I turn on my street and hit the button with my left hand and by the time I get in the driveway the garage door is open. I did this a couple of years ago with help from the DIY thread.

Yep, I installed mine right after getting the bike and one of the best things I did.

I bought the HD one that uses the Headlight switch. I love it.

Made one with a HD odometer reset switch and the rubber boot, wired it to my existing g-door opener, 15 bucks. Put the door opener button on the other side of the inner fairing to offset the look of the odometer reset button.

Like the tank leather.
Do you remember where you got it?

I put a small pushbutton switch on my RKC on the left hand controls where the radio blank was. Ran the wires down to the headlight nacelle where I have the garage door opener zip tied. Great idea, I love it. The mini chrome switch was like $10 and the garage door opener was $17, $27 total.

I used to try reaching in my pants for my mini - garage garage door opener. The only thing good about that, was that I sometimes asked my girlfriend to find it for me. Sometimes she even found it.

I didn't really buy it but I bought a ladies leather belt at Wal Mart, split it in two and studded the edge of each half. I looesened the console screws and and raised it and slid the halfs under each side and then tightened down the screws on the console.

Maybe I just like things simple but I place my garage door opener in one of those handy dandy little pouches up there on my windshield that are both conveniently located and right sized just for the remote.

Yep, good call. It sure is nice to hit the switch and pull in.
