mikuni carb

I have a 05 tc88 95.5 build and 510 s&s cams cv42 carb thinking of going with a 45mm mikuni HP94 torque is 106 cv is jetted at max would mikuni be any better

there is a reason why harley sells the screamin eagle performance carb which is basically a mikuni, but a cv carb is also a good carb if dialed in right.

I believe the stock CV is a 40m.m. They do make a 44m.m. CV. Not familiar with, or ever heard of a 42m.m. CV. I run a 45m.m. Mikuni on a 95 incher but it has ported and polished heads that really flow and .590 lift cams and a lot of compression. My guess is a 42m.m. Mikuni would be great on your bike. The 45m.m. might give you more power right at top rpm but at lower rpms, the velocity would suffer, and you'd probably get less than with the 42m.m. That 45 Mikuni flows a lot fuel and air!
