Why worry about what is in the system, flush the whole thing with DOT 5 and be done. if there was any mixing it wasn't in there long enough to do any harm. Flushing are refilling and bleeding with DOT 5 will answer your problem, and you will also know when the system was last serviced.

Gotta be dot 5 after all. I poured some of the old fluid in a bottle of water last night and it floated to top -- wouldn't mix at all. Then poured some of the new dot 5 purple fluid in a bottle of water and it did the same. Then mixed the old fluid and new dot 5 in another container and they mixed perfectly. So, after all that, it's dot 5. At least now I know HOW to check for the stuff. Can't go by color alone.

Hot95hog, I've got some speedbleeders on order. Once they're here, I plan to bleed it all with fresh dot 5 anyway, so should be good no matter what.
