Default Simichrome???

Anyone ever use this on their paint? I know that police officers and firefighters use it to polish badges and brass but was wondering if I can use it to get out minor scratches on vivid black paint. Or is there something else out there for this application? Thanks in advance!

I have never seen simichrome for paint, it is chrome polish. It it really very abrasive, it would damage your paint.

Try Meguir"s Show Car Glaze #7, have had good luck with it in the past.
Hope it helps.

Not on the paint....get some scratch out by Kit or Meguiars (sp) or similar product...Simichrome is for plated surfaces...or on surfaces like brake/clutch levers etc...

It's for metal surfaces, not painted surfaces. http://www.simichrome-polish.com/

I have been looking...and until yesterday couldn't find....The Black Box from Turtle Wax.

I found it yesterday at Advance Auto Parts. $19.99 for a box that includes A bottle of Pre-Wax Cleaner (tinted black), a bottle of Wax (tinted black), and 2 bottles of Spray Detailer (tinted black).

I ran right home and washed the bike and used the new product. OMG....

My vivid black looks like it just got off the showroom floor. Swirls and minor surface scratches are gone. Best thing I have ever used on this paint. Now I only wish I could find something that repelled dust.......so I don't have to clean so often.

Also....I was worried about being messy withe the tinted back stuff because I didn't want it to stain any chrome or anything but the vivid black paint. Don't worry about it. It comes off the chrome just like any other wax and leaves no residue behind. Awesome product!!!

We used to use Simichrome on the (unplated) aluminum surfaces of our AMF bikes. It's a fairly abrasive metal polish, and I wouldn't use it on paint.

I used it on the fiberglass of my boat to get out the stains. It worked great and is a recommended use. But I'd be a bit nervous about using it on paint.

Harley has a swirl remover but I am not real impressed with it. I have tried it on my vivid black paint and it gets rid of very very minor scratches only.

Thanks Guys, I did not think it should be used on paint but thought I had read about someone on here using it.
