Thinking of switching pipes again but this time going to a 2 into 1. What are others using? Do you like them? What kind of numbers are you getting with them? Engine is still stock except for the stage 1 but thinking of going with the 98 kit this winter if not sooner. Let me know what you guy's have.
I have a Supertrapp 2 into 1 on my 06 street glide. I really like it. The sound is great, and I have with my new 25 degree injectors and SERT and stage 1 set up 77 hp and 80 tq.
Hey Roll,
I was thinking of getting a set of the big shot duals for my '06 injected Road King Classic. Can I ask the reason you are considering a change. And what do you want for the Duals?
Just kicking the idea around right now. I have always read that the 2 into 1 was getting better numbers then the true duals but after looking around at some of the numbers that people have posted after dyno tuning, it doesn't seem as significant as I thought. I have yet to get my bike dyno tuned as it was scheduled to go in to one dealer for tuning last Tuesday when the dealer I bought from called to say he would replace my ignition switch for me also on Tuesday. I went with the ignition replacement seeing as I have been after them for a few weeks to get it done. Now I need to reschedule the dyno work. I told the dealer that will be doing the dyno tune that I am getting some decel popping and that my mpg are around 35. He said I probably won't be able to get rid of all the popping and that 35 mpg is pretty good. I know different just from reading other peoples postings after tuning. They are on the Dynojet site as a recommended tuner. I may feel different about replacing the pipes once I get the tune. I have absolutely no complaints about the pipes as they sound great and fit and finish is beautiful. Just thinking that if I go with the 98 kit, I may as well get the most out of it if the 2 into 1 would make that much of a difference over the true duals.
