Default Could this be a Power Commander problem?

What are the symptoms of a power commander problem? (This is a brand new unit). I just had my bike done, picked it up yesterday, and it runs great with PCV, new pipes, big sucker and cam, but there is an intermittent misfire. It may occurr 4-5 times per hour, bike does not stall, just looses power for a split second. It's enough to cut off the cruise control. It has only done this when crusing, not during startup or accellerating so far. No hard starting--starts right up and pulls great. The bike runs fantastic otherwise. I called the mechanic yesterday after the first ride. The mechanic said that he thinks there is a possiblity of bad gas that he's never had this problem and it did not do it on his test ride. He said that he had to take the bike to a local station where they were out of premium fuel, so he filled with low test and added an octane booster. He asked me to fill the bike with High octane Sonoco and see if the problem goes away as he feels we must rule out bad gas. I did so this AM and although it did it several times, it seemed to be much less frequent than yesterday. Any thoughts out there?

Are you sure it isn't knocking? that'll usually cut off the cruise. Could be from bad gas....but may be the tune as well. Doubt its a problem with the unit itself though.

If you are you using a PCIII on a 2010 model, you should probably be using a PCV

Sorry, it is a PCV, typo. Thanks for the heads up, I corrected the post.

I lost the PCV in my 2009 last week, no warning pulled in to fill up and would not restart pulled the PCV and I was off and running. I had a similar issue with a PCIII in my 07 ultra a year ago so it was fresh in my mind and the first thing I tried. From my experience it either works or doesn't.

Wow. Sounds like my strange new problem! Installed a PCV with Jamie's complete package including Woods cam and header pipe on my new Limited! Runs awesome, EXCEPT for a very intermittent "miss" at around 2200-2400 rpms at low throttle. Driving me bat ****! Send the PCV back to Jamie, and he is currently testing it! Let me know if this sounds like your problem! (Again, this may happen only a couple times an hour or so, very weird. Bike starts easy, and pulls strong?!)

Sounds strangely familiar. Also, should you learn anything from your mechanic, let me know as well.

I had the very same thing on my 07 ultra,i thought it was bad gas also but after many tanks the problem was still there, the bike ran great with the pcv until i had cams installed and shortly after that the intermittent miss showed up. I also talked to jamie about the problem and he didnt think it had anything to do with the pcv. he thought it was gas but i dont think so. my problem went away when i sold the 07 and i have yet to figure out what fuel management to to on my 10 limited.

Rambler;

So was your "miss" usually around 2200-2500 rpms while at maybe 5-10% throttle and slowly accelerating? And just hesitate for a split second?
