Default Chrome Lower Fork Sliders

I'm thinking about installing a set of chrome lower fork sliders. Whats everyones opinion, buy the sliders from harley or one of the chromers on E Bay. What is included if you buy the HD kit 46472-00B besides the lower sliders.

Let me know if anyone has had good or bad experiences from a well known plater.

If you punch that kit number into the HD website, it will show you the instruction sheet which will also list the service parts in the kit. Personally, I would go with the HD kit but others have had luck with plating.

If I looked at the instruction sheet correctly it appears that the lower clamp, drain screws and seals are included.

Right??

Just installed the kit 2 weeks ago. I had 20% off so it was a no brainer for me. Everything you need is in the kit besides the drain screws that you need to replace i believe. It just was easier for me.

In addition to the kit you'll need new seals, bushings, 6 mm bolts, & fork oil. Not costly & not difficult to do yourself.

What Jinks said. If you do the research before hand its a pretty simple project.

I took mine off and sent them to S&H chrome. They machined one caliper mount off and chromed both lowers for $185.00 plus SH. I did my slider covers at the same time $25.00 each. Give them a call they will give you a turn around time.

No, if you have the shop manual take a look at how it's done. If you don't have the shop manual either get one or leave it to the dealer.
