Whats up everyone? need some advise on a SSC windshield from Cee bailey--I have a 2010 Street Glide and I am 5'7". The stock windshield just isnt cutting it, even at my vertically challenged hieght LOL. Is anyone out there running the SSC windshield that is about my hieght? can anyone tell me a good hieght windshield that will allow me to see over it but still get the air up and over instead of getting slammed around like crazy at highway speeds-the wind wants to just shake my glasses and helmet off-I am guessing this is what buffeting is. I was thinking the 9" would be plenty for me, was hoping I could even go lower--anybody have any idea??
I have a Cee Bailey SSC windshield. They are great....Look good also. I am constantly approached by other riders wanting to know where I bought it.
I am 6'3" and ride an 02 Electraglide with FLHX shocks on it. I have a 12" SSC dark gray windshield and I get a little helmet buffeting. It is easy for me to see over it at night so no vision problems. A good friend of mine is about 5'8" and rides an FLHX. He has a 14" lightly smoked SSC on his. He tried mine and it was fine during the day but at night created problems because of where the top of the windshield impacted his field of vision. He went with the taller one and can easily see through it day or night and it has completely stopped the helmet buffeting for him and his wife.
In my opinion if you are looking to stop the helmet buffeting completely then go with the 14". If you don't mind a little bit of helmet buffeting then go with 9". At your height and placement on the bike the 12" might not be the easiest choice to see through or over.
Just my opinion,
Dale
I'm 6'2" with 34" inseam and I use the 15 inch. The 13" may be the right one for ya', it was almost high enough for me, but not quite. The folks at Cee Bailee's were more than helpful. Remmber, that height is figured off the fuel tank door (I think) not the actual height of the shield. 13" is really about the same as a 9" stock shield..as I recall..you will want to check with C.B for a final decision.
Thanks for the help guys and the recommendations-I definitely want to go with the Cee Bailey shield-I have heard nothing but good about it-I guess I am gonna have to do my best to try to measure the way they explain and go for it LOL-just confused me a bit the way they described. But again, I appreciate the responses from you guys. Its finally warming up here in NY so we can get some riding in-although been think of trading the bike for a boat with all the damn rain we been having LOL
I'm 5' 10 and I went with the 13 and it is perfict. You will love it, I had one guy come up to me and asked if I took a torch to it to get it that way cause he wanted to do the same to his, it was a good LOL moment.
