I have an 07 Police Road King that I bought new 4/1/08. I go thru a rear tire a season or 9000 miles. I ran a Metzler 880 150/80B16 last year and it looked great on the bike but had an uneven wear pattern and alot of road noise in the turns the last couple thousand miles. I think the 3" rim and I didn't up the air pressure from 40 to 48psi caused the wear problems. Based on the tire threads on this forum I ordered the Elite III's front and back in the sizes that Dawg suggested yesterday off of the internet for $210.98 delivered to my door.

I like Dunlops. 402 stock Dunlops or Dunlop E3. E3 might last ya longer, track better on iron/grooves (if ya have much of that), both handle the same (very good) on dry or wet conditions according to Dunlop rep..
I think I like the look of the stockers better than the E3's.

48 is too high for Metzler. Check the Metzler web site 40 -40

I ran 40 psi in the Metzler the whole time. While researching my next tire I noticed that Metzler recommended higher pressures for the non-alpha sized tires. Thought this may have contributed to the wear problem. http://www.us.metzelermoto.com/web/p...s/default.page

+1 on what Dawg posted. They're a definite improvement over factory, and aren't groove & tar snake sensitive....

+1 on the E3's. Just got mine put on yesterday, WOW, what a difference! It seriously feels like a whole new bike. http://www.jakewilson.com has great prices + free shipping. They give you $10 off if you buy 2 or more tires, and if you search for online coupons, you can get another $20 off an order of $150 or more. I got both tires shipped to my door for $176 and they came in 1 day!

just like doc said. i'm using a dunlop elite 3 mu 90-16 on the rear of my 08 streetglide, and am very happy with it. no more butt wiggle while riding on rain grooved roads, and it handles noticeably better. when it's time for the front, it's going to get the proper size there too of dunlop elite 3. the front is the mt90-16
