Default Me too

After reading many threads on this RG wind issue I'm getting the fork wind baffle and the HD vented lowers (from Chicago HD). A lot of guys here use and are happy with the Hogg Chops. On the Hogg Chops web site they list many styles as unavailable. On another thread someone said he got an email from the guy at Hogg Chops that said he no longer has a painter and could only deliver the unpainted lowers. That's why I chose HD. Maybe he'll get another painter soon, I just didn't want to wait.

I got the fork baffle that is painted black and vented HD lowers. I ride a '10 FLTRX. I also have a stock '09 windshield. I am very happy with the way the wind flows now. I don't think I will ever remove the lowers.

HD vented lowers, fork baffle, and Cee Bailey's 15" Euro windshield and I'm happy as a lark behind the fairing.

Thank you to everyone that posted on this thread!

I have decided to go with a 14" Windvest windsheild, and a set of Hogg Chopps, along with the small deflector on the triple tree. This was all on your reccomendations from this forum. All items are ordered and should be here some time this week. Now if work wouldn't get in the way...

Thank you again everyone

Tommy

Tommy,

You'll be very satisfied riding behind a set of lowers w/a taller shield.
...The lowers were the 1st significant add I did to my RG & they've likely been the most consequential. ..... i never take'm off.

Even with lowers and the fork baffle you are going to get high speed air on the top of your knees. I just got used to it. No biggie.

I am going to try and come up with a small air deflector or something that either attaches to the lowers or the fairing that directs the air away.
You know...for winter.

Default More wind management info

Hey Gang,

Put the new Wind Vest windsheild on, and what a diff. it has made. Went from a 19" stock to the 14". Really like it. Got the Hogg Chopps in, and they are at the paint shop.

Why in the hell hasn't some company come out with little wind deflectors to attach to the lower part of the upper fairing, like available for the batwing fairing?

Going to take the original windsheild and with a jig saw and a torch, gonna do some "fabricatin". We'll see...
