Default Decision Making Time Need Help!!

Riders,

Just returned from another successful tour in Afghanistan and had a great time...the Marines are doing a great job despite the challenges they are faced with. Now I am home in search of a new bike. I've been looking at several on ebay and but wanted some others thoughts on this issue. I'm looking at a 2007 Ultra CVO, and a 2003 RK that has tons of chrome along with a new Screaming Eagle engine...(its gorgeous). Anyway, stopped by the dealer yesterday and looked at the Ultra Limited and really liked the look of that as well (scarlet red and black...great colors as they are similar to USMC!!!). Anyway, was curious what others thought about these new touring bikes in comparison to the older bikes that are all tricked out. Lastly, I was recently selected for MGySgt and this is my promotion present so I want to get the right bike...will use it on nice days in S. CA to commute to work (30 miles +/-) and hope to join a MC chapter out there and do rides as well. Thoughts and recommendations are appreciated.

Welcome home Troop! Congradulations on your promotion!
The '07 S-E would be my choice...all of the good and none of the bad.
If you have a riding pardner, she'll like the comfort of the Ultra a lot more than a RK.

First of all, thank you for your service. When I was in, we were still fighting Russians on paper. Big difference between 25 years ago and today.

Second, go with the new bike, if you can afford it. You won't be sorry. The new frame and ride will be worth it. I have a 2010 Road King Classic and it is a great riding fun bike.

Welcome back. You'll enjoy the top of the food chain. I would advise you to go with the Ultra. Changes made in 09 on the touring line are worth the price of admission.

Thanks for your service!

Get the bike that REALLY grabs your attention even if it is a used bike. Don't buy into the "new frame have to have hype". You may pass up a good bike doing so. If a new bike is the winner of your heart, so be it, but be open minded....................unlike this place.

Welcome home Soldier! Thank you for your service and congrat's on the promotion. When I was in the Army, I worked in the motor pool shoeing horse's. I think that was the year George Washington made Sgt. If you are going to ride two up, I would go for the Ultra. Nice bike with lot's of goodies for you and the misses comfort. If not, I would get the CVO SG. that's my favorite Harley if riding solo. Thanks again and good luck!!!

Thanks for your service, you can't beat new & the limited is the way to go if you want all the bells & whistles, they had some problems with the early 110s, don't know if the one you're looking at has had them ironed out or not. You should have less headaches with the new bike & the new frame is worth the price of admission. Can you still get a deal through the military on purchase of a new vehicle?

AMEN! I had an 09 with the new frame, I wasn't that impressed with it. I like my 08 UC better.
