personally I would hold out for the street glide shocks. I think you would be happier. watch ebay and the classifieds.

Lowering blocks? My suggestion is to not use them. There's a guy who posted here a couple days ago about riding two-up and the rear fender hitting the tire...it tore up the wiring pretty bad.

Lowering isn't something to take lightly...and if you really want to do this, I'd strongly suggest you pay the $$ to do it right with new shocks. Talk to your dealer.

I've heard bad things about them myself when I asked about them. Everything from stories of the angle for the shocks not designed that way and the shock mounts will break while on a ride to it will either mess up your bags or you will have to modify you bags. Here is a site I found with some interesting stuff.

http://bitchinbaggers.com/

Other than that I have not heard of anyone actually using them. You can look at their feedback on ebay and look for someone else who has bought them. Maybe you can email that person and ask them what they think. I like the look but personally I sometimes ride 2up and do not want to take the chance with it.

if its short leg problems you would be amazed at what a seat mod can do for ya couple that with a backrest to hold ya more forward and that may solve the short leg problem.

The stealer put lowering blocks on my 01 when new and i still have them on and ride 2 up about 40% of the time with no problems of anything rubbing. The ride is a lot harsher is the only problem i've had but still have original shocks so may be part of it.

I advise against using the lowering blocks unless you are a light guy you would probably be ok with them.

As others have said, the stock shocks are designed to bottom out before the tire bottoms out on the finder / rear light harness. When you add the lowering blocks, you remove this factory set stopping point in the shock to a point where the shock nolonger bottoms out before the tire meets the fender.

After rewiring my own rear wiring harness due to the lowering blocks, I recently purchased a set of shocks from http://bitchinbaggers.com/. I have had them for a week now and I love them. I did the 1.5" drop. You can send your shocks to them and have them do the work for 175, or you can just buy them outright for 275 without sending yours in. I opted for the second option and recieved them within a week of placing the order. By getting the shorter shocks, you keep the factory stopping point so you won't burn through your wiring with the tire, you just lose some of your travel.

If you decide against my advice and want lowering blocks, send me 20 dollars and I will send you the ones I have.

Conrad

I put one of those kits on my 95 FLHTC and didn't ever have a problem even riding 2 up. You do have to watch the adjustable lowering kits, just as some of the others have wrote it can and most likely will get into the fender and wiring. I opted for the 1.5" nonadjustable kit just from what I had read on them, its just about as low as you can go without tearing anything up.
