I have a 2002 hd ultra and I have replace the stator it was fried so i replaced the regulator just for good mesure , I also replaced the plugs and wires , did a full service and new battery. I was on the way to work this morning and got about 30mls and it started to act up , spiting and spudering , the the lights flashed and the bike just died. got off the road, and fliped the on off switch and it turned back on so on my way i went, and then not 2mls it happend again . So now I pull the seat off knowing I just replaced the battery ,maybe the terminals are loose , and they were a little bit loose so I tighted them up and tried again , but again it happend . I got a tow and got home . I started doing some research and found that there was a recall on the breaker/fuse with all the same simptoms , so I called Harley customer service to find out if this had ever been done on my bike and I was told yes, but to make sure with my local dealer , some reports have surfaced about dealers reporting recalls being done that have not really been done .

If anyone has any other suggestions PLEASE jump in . I dont like takeing my bike to the dealer , but........... I might have too now . urgh!

The first thing I'd look for is a poor ground. Start at the battery.
