14k on her and ....
I put about a thousand miles on the glide classic the last few weeks so I decided since its sat all winter id change the oil at 14k instead of 15k . I went with Mobil 1 15w50 and its something I wanted to try cause its a lot cheaper than amsoil and mobil1 v twin and the like..
Went out riding with the neighbor yesterday so when we returned to the hood
I grabbed my drain pan and started draining the oil and when that was done I removed the filter and much to my surprise the motor mount bolt right under the filter was missing ? I found a 3/8 bolt and nylock nut to use for now and finished the oil change.. On my 300 mile weekend trip I noticed the fairing seemed to be moving around a lot and so today I pulled the outer and sure nuff both the main brackets were broke at the top? 14k and i crashed this thing and lost a summer of riding and the brackets were replaced when they put it back together.. Damn H/D JUNK
Well I welded the brackets adding weld and actually welding the tabs on the bottom where they should have been welded to begin with .
Lots better and now we shall see how the 15w50 mobil 1 works also.
