yes you can lower the rear only, how much are you looking to go? I wouldn't go more than half an inch with out changing the front too..but thats me.

I have lowered the rear of every bike I have owned, to me they just look better that way. It will not affect anything as long as you dont lower it say 1.5 inches as stated before. You will loose some clearance and wheel travel though.

I have an 2010 roadking. I put HD's low profile shocks on it and a reach seat. Did nothing to the front. Infact the mechanic at dealer sort or recommended not to. I am 5'8". It was the best thing I did. I have had 3 harleys and a few metrics. The king handles the best.

I had just the rear lowered on my 97 RK with nothing to the front. Was a good setup. I have lowered both the front and rear on my 07 and I really like the way it looks and handles...

I think this month, Progressive was offering a special if you got the 440's or new 940's they will give you a set of new springs for the front so you could lower it at the same time.

After searching the forum, I decided to lower my RK since I have a 29" inseam. Lowered rear with shocks and forks with HD springs and heavier oil. Ride quality hasn't changed, haven't scraped the boards yet, looks great, and handles even better to me.
