On 4/24 am heading out for a 6 day ride. My '09 Road Glide is set up with a solo seat so my only storage will be the two saddlebags. Haven't done a test pack to see if I can get everything in two bags or not but know it will be tight.
Checked out the HD solo rack and with all the hardware I'm bumping $400. That seems a little steep but may be my only answer.
Anyone have any suggestions on how to carry a little extra gear without damaging the paint or spending a bloody fortune?
Do you have a small 'gym bag' that you could use to pack stuff? If so, get a decent towel at Wal-Mart that you can fold in half such that it will fit underneath your bag and over the fender so as to avoid rubmarks. Once you acquire that, get a couple of bungee cords and just strap it down good and tight.
Pack only for three days then do laundry at hotel or launder mat.Two saddle bags are enough to pack all you need and more use one for daily use items and other for gear and other necessities .
