Default Has anyone installed progressive drop in kit on front end???

got progressives drop in kit today. so you all know you still have to remove the forks. that being said, the chart on the instruction sheet says the pvc spacer i need is .00". it does not say what kind of a drop that gives me. im shooting for a 1" drop and i have no idea wether no spacer is 2" drop or what. anything would help

The home page of hdforums.com has a video of how to install the springs. No need to remove the forks from their video. YMMV.

ya i saw that too and thought it would be that easy.... but no. you still must remove your wheel fender and whatever else to get the forks out. that top nut cap u see helps hold the forks up. take off the cap. loosen the pinch bolts and remove the forks to get to the real cap. which is where im at. just trying to figure out what ot cut the spacer at for a 1" drop

I would for sure be calling Progressive to get the answers. When your messing with front suspension you want it right the first time. Just my op.

It is only "drop in" on Dyna and Sportsters. Baggers and Softails you have to remove the legs from the trees to get the fork spring cap off.

Kinda bad marketing to call it drop in when it AINT!

well i just installed it on my 2009 road king yesterday. i did not want the full inch drop i wanted an inch. which i think there directions for our touring models suck! any who i measured the thickness of the two spacer washers took that diffrence off an inch and thats what i cut my pvc spacer too. put the kit in with type E oil and crossed my fingers as i lowered my bike as i did not wanna tear it apart again. All turned out well. i will try to measure my clearance's for ya today but took it out yesterday to try to hit pot holes and seemed well. i had just installed a 21/18 setup and the lowering kit made a worlds of diffrence for the better.

my signiture pic is with the lowering kit.
