Default Air shocks leaking....

Touring guys and gals, I recently put Road King shocks on my 2010 Wide Glide and have to air them up about every 3-4 hours. Ive read that this is pretty common with the RK shocks. All the fittings seem to be tight, but I think the pressfit lines are just not a great seal, even though I bought all new ones prior to installing them. Is this just something Im gonna just have to deal with or is there a better way to get these things to seal up?

Thanks in advance!
Jaison

When you did the install, did you cut back the ends of the tubing a little bit first?

To find out exactly where the leak is, take a LITTLE bit of dish-washing detergent mixed in a squeeze bottle of water and saturate each fitting and surrounding area and do the same on the shock inlet fitting.

The leak will blow bubbles for ease of reference.

Were the RK shocks brand new or second hand? May be a leak past the shock seals??

i was going to suggest the windex bottle with a bit of dishwashing soap mixed with water so you can a similar air leak test as you'd do with a tire, but v2evo beat me to it.

I changed out my 09 SG shocks 12" for a set of take off 13" from a classic and when I first put them on they would not hold air either, I again pushed the release button for the airlines and removed the lines and checked the quick release to see how far it would stick out and then reinstalled the airlines farther into the joint or connection and made sure the quick release was locking and holding the lines and I have not had a problem since. Using the spray bottle with and light soapy mixture is a good indicator if the lines are leaking by looking for small bubbles coming out of the airlines as previously suggested. Good Luck!

Default Mine leaked right from day 1

I used soapy water and found the culprit at one of the couplings. I trimmed each one and now they have held the same pressure for over 2 months.
