That is almost the correct number for a second line. The disconnected line was 1-866-899-5962. The reason why I got rid of it was because I had it forwarded to another set of #'s ie cell phone and business phone. Every time someone called me I was charged (by the min.) both incoming and again outgoing. I guess they were taking lessons from the government screwing you both ways!

If you wish not to talk about Ohlins please consider Dr. V-Twin who also sells a different brand of shock(s). He does answer his phone when I buy stuff from him and is very knowledgeable in many different products. He offered me great customer service and I did call him as anyone else would. Please support the HDF sponsors here as you will undoubtedly get the best deal in the universe (+) you will get great service and service is what is most important when you have problems.

There is many great guys here from Joe Knapp for Powder coating to Fuel Moto for exhausts and timing to others who will discount quality wheels, to custom seats. HDF is where you can find it all. They (HDF and their fine members) get rid of the poor vendors like the guy who was selling scam air shocks (forget the name, something with dragon in the name) to the scams who steal your money. These good guys help to keep the lights on! The best forum on the net!!

Interesting thread. I've always disliked the stock shocks. I run about 40-45 PSI in my 09, but it's harsh, and I still bottom out sometimes.

I'm a fairly big guy, 280 lb. Most of my riding is solo, around town or weekend stuff. Maybe 10% two up and 5% touring with gear. I'm not what I consider to be an agressive rider.

Would I see much difference going with better shocks? And just how much do the Ohlins cost? Howard's website says they "list" for $1041.

"does this mean i have to pay full msrp now?" Now that's funny.

A bunch of us jumped in to help you get to Howard because we have had nothing but fantastic experience with him and the Ohlins he makes for our Harleys. Dr. V-Twin is another outstanding Vendor who must live here on the forum.

Good luck in your quest, keep us posted on what you decide to do.

LOL, just chock it up to noobie misunderstanding and this is your initiation. You will be surprised how many vendors are here. Just don't be so quick to make judgements. You will do OK if you just do a little more research.

I paid $545.00 for my 2-3 Ohlins from Howard - shipped to my door. The $1041 price is for another version. By the way......the Ohlins are WELL worth the money. Superb quality & superb ride. I have a 2010 Ultra Classic

When ordering your Ohlins I cannot stress enough to get the model that has the threaded body for preload adjustment and the exterior damping adjuster. Trust me it is worth the extra few bucks, it will make a big difference when trying to dial them in as Ohlins are a very high quality unit and are very precisely made not a mass produced unit. I have been using Ohlins since 1979 and have been extremely satisfied with my Ohlins in every arena I have used them in.
