Default E3 Part number?

I'm trying to decide on a rear tire for my 09 FLHT (180/65x16 81H) and am leaning heavily towards the e3 radial. It appears Dunlop has several to choose from in the size range and weight range. Does anybody know the Dunlop part number for the correct tire? Thanks

Not to be a smart *** or anything, but if you've allready looked at Dunlops web site to see the different sizes to pick from, the part #'s should be right there. Just saying

being that you're bike is the bastard child for 17 inch front tires, can i suggest looking at the american elite series vs the regular e3? the american elite comes in sizes to match and is available in a 17 inch.

otherwise, you are going to have an e3 on the rear (your bike came with a bias play 180/65 - 16, and you can get either a 18/60 or a 180/70, both are very close), and something else on the front.

now some people don't mind mixing radials and bias on their bikes, but me personally, i would rather have a matched set.

ok, I will try to explain. Dunlop website has 5 to choose from. 180/60R16 80H Elite 3 radial, 180/70R16 77H Elite 3 radial, 180/60R16 74H D250 radial, 180/70R16 77H D251 radial, 180/70R16 77H D206 All five have different part numbers. If I was guessing it would be the first one, with the 80H load rating. Dont know which one to order. Please help.

Good point. But I would really like to try a radial and matching front to back tires is not that important to me. Thanks

Would the american elite rear tire last as long or longer than the e3 radial?

the jury is out on that one since it is a new tire. there just isn't any data to know that yet.

you could always be the first and let us know

Still undecided. Guess I need to call Dunlop.
