Trust is fragile..... we spend decent money for something.. and we expect that something to be trouble-free.... or at least untill the warranty expires.
If you have an un-reliable friend/worker....once you stop trusting them.... it's real hard to reestablish that trust.
Same goes for a bike/car/truck..... get stuck a few times.... the thought HAS to gnaw at you.
Keep those documents, check your local "lemon laws" and keep the dealership on your side.... maybe the rep can work a new bike... or at least an extended warranty.
The right muffler fell off after just 1800mi.
Licence plate fell off - the bracket broke in half.
Primary oil seal on gearbox mainshaft started leaking.
Throttle by wire dies for no reason. they still cant fix this one.
The starter kicks in when you dont press the button. cant fix this either.
It has had 4 (yes 4) sets of genuine heated grips and they still dont work
The clutch switch packed up so cruise wouldnt work.
Tires lasted 6000 miles not the 12000 promised in the brochure.
The ABS had to be updated because the bike took forever to stop.
But I still love the fuggin thing. The 124" has a lot to do with that....

Sounds like your focus is in the wrong place. No machine on this planet is without failures.Take care of them the right way the first time, and focus on what the machine was bought for in the first place.Unadultrated pleasure in the wind!
Years ago I bought a new Buick and the motor started knocking. The dealership was unable to fix it and as I was traveling at the time I had other dealers try to fix the problem. I filed lemon law and as I was working in Michigan at the time GM sent a new motor in a crate to the nearest dealership, swapped out the motor and problem solved. I would as mentioned be working with the local rep and if the problems can not be resolved the mere mention of lemon law may get your bike replaced.
Have you guys forgotten AMF? Those were the years. Had a saying (Ride a Harley ride the best ride a mile walk the rest). This is why I buy older bikes and fix the problems and ride with a smile. If I had put up that much money I would be pissed also. Good luck.
Exactly I'm glad you see my point and I've been trying to move to Texas for two years, want to swap . Do you know how hard it is to do 21,000 miles on an island thats 72 miles end to end, just call me Forrest, Forrest Gump?
BTW in case I was misunderstood I do not have a dealer complaint.
Hey Eric is we switch places, do I have to take my wife with me to Hawaii too or can I leave her in Texas?
That could be a deal breaker. lol
