Sorry to burst you guys bubble, but I don't find my safety increased if I blind the guy behind me. It seems to me that there is a line that can be crossed between increased visibility for safety and having something so bright that it blinds people.
I want people to notice me and stop but I sure as hell don't want somebody coming up behind me and be blinded and now they can't judge when or where to stop.

That's my 2 cents.
+1 on the group buy!
Well we all have different opinions - my thinking is that since I already attempt to maintain adequate separation from vehicles behind me, when the BAL goes off it will not have a blinding effect but more a look, dammit, I'm right here... Besides, the BAL's are adjustable according to the website.
If anyone turns up with one of these things they don't particularly care for, PM me, I'd be more than happy to buy one second hand... I could buy it new, but I'm highly impatient...
and **** them off than to be rear ended because they weren't paying attention. It's up to us to be seen and not rely on the car drivers to be watching. Whatever that takes (short of putting a round through their windshield that is) and I'm not ruling that option out either.
Just my $.02
After seeing one at a local dealer and playing around with it for a little bit I decided to pick one up today BAL-1R was hoping to get a BAL-3 smoked but the one they had came with the plate light on top which I don't need. But since I was currently running the HD LED smoked tail light I opted to go ahead and get the BAL-1.
Came home and installed it in about 5 minuets. Like others have said a little pricey at $213.49 including tax but think it's money well spent. Lost track of the times making a right hand turn into my community and hearing brakes screeching behind me.
i rode my 08 streetglide over to rogers arkansas "pig trail harley" and they had them in stock. $200 bucks later, and i was on my way home. a tip for when you're using the magnet for dialing in which pattern/brightness you want. click your ignition over to the accessory position. then put your riding glove on the right handlebar , making sure that the glove goes over the grip and brake lever to actuate the brake light switch. i have mine set on the brightest tail light, and the very rapid brightest flash for the brake light, and the idiots sure stay off my tail, especially at night. money well spent.
