i just put a set of pm grips on my sg and no matter what i do to the throttle grip it gets tight like its binding not always though i screwed with ot for an hour and nothing i do makes it better what the hell gives i new the problems started when i coulnt get the switch caps apart i had to loosen the master cylinder mount to spread them apart enough to get the rib out so do i need to get different gribs or is there something else to adjust its not tight to the handlebar its like the grip is to loose over the bar allowing it to move a little to much csausing it to bind?
Probably just need to move the master and switch housing towards the end of the bar a little. There needs to be a little free play for the grip in the switch housing.
ive tried moving it in or out no help gte worse the it get stiff if you dont turn the grip perfevtly if you lift or pull on the grip when turning is stick its loose on the bar at the housing? hard to explain

I had the same problem when i changed my Grips and to resolve the Issue I did exactly as hog-doc said you have to pull the master out a little and twist it a little forward or back.
ill try and screw with it again tonight maybe i was so dam frustrated i gave up i screwed with it for over an over moving everything it seems like the simplest thing can be the biggest pain in the ***
sounds like something is just not quite right. Maybe take it all off that side or at least loosen everything and set it back up. There may be some trash or something that got in between the bars and the twist grip. make sure it's clean.
i tried moving it out it got worse moving it in made it better can someone with pm grips tell me if their throttle grip moves up and down a bit by the controls thats when it binds its loose if not i am gonna get some different grips cause this is rediculous i cant believe how much bs it is to change grips that i paid 150 dollars for
I have a set of PM rental grips on my '09 FLHT. I had the same problem having to split and move the housing to get my factory ones off. However, I don't have a binding problem. I do have a slop problem. There is a lot of slop after I installed those grips. They work well, no binding, but the amount of slop up and down at the housing is just crazy.
exactly there is to much slop if i continue to have problems i m gonna shave that rib thats binding a little thinner i see no way to fix it now due to the movement it binds if you lift up on the grip to much while turning as far as im concerned for 150 bucks they are junk what a joke
