That's a 200mm kit from Fat Baggers. I installed it myself, but the instructions they provide is not for the novice mechanic. Basically, they are good for the experienced installer who may have done this before and needs just a few reminders. Illustrations and parts identification are very poor. I had to make several calls to FBI for explanation of a few steps.

Whats strange is it is almost always the left side that breaks. You can see from the picture that it was ground down to the left of the weld and broke next to the weld. They dont line up well and are stressed when installed. Adjusting the tab, the muffler support and the fender bracket to be parallel before bolting them together will help them live longer.

BTW, put some towels under them painted parts!!!

Yeah, I should do that. I was kinda in a hurry, but I did set them down very softly.

The set-up appears to provide diminished support to bags.
The design deleted the front guard bag bar support so rail sits on horizontal with no vertical support.
The rear seems to not have the horizontal fender support bar.. The bar that goes from bolts on broken part to bottom of metal fender bolt and then to same location on opposite side.
The set-up as viewed is basically a horizontal bar to support bag weight with only one attachment point on each end of bar..this allows lots of leverage for support bar to break..add some weight to bag, vibration from engine transferred by muffler support and mix it with the leverage factor...after a while it could break.

2 into 1 exhaust is the only permanent fix.

Got the joint welded again and added an additional plate on the backside then added a rubber spacer between the bracket and bag support bar.
The messy joint isn't visible when the fender is in place.

Did you remove the chrome support tube that connects the two top frame rails previously?

That all went away when I installed the FBI fender and tire kit.

While cleaning my rear wheel I also found my bracket was broken on the LHS. How long does it take to change this part out and thanks for the post on this subject,

Bob
