how do all! traded in my 02 Lowrider for a 07 RK custom.anyone riding this gem have anything they can share performance, comfort, etc. i take delivery on or about Aug.19 thanks.
Congrats on the KING!!!!
The stock seat is lacking, you will need to swap it out if you are planning on riding for any length of time.
Stage I is always nice to do, get a bit more power.
Other than that is all just personal preference. I would take it slow on customizing it just to get a real feel for what you want to do.
i HAVE THE 07 RK Classic now with 1600 miles after 3 weeks. Thoughts.... Been very happy with overall build quality and ease of making changes. Went with a combo speedo-tach and changed the gas caps to the low profile set. As for the ride... totally agree with the comment about the seat. I have tried the Mustang solo touring but found that I felt I was riding on the bike rails, I have just changed over to a Mustang Dual Touring. Definitely sits higher but I can't make any final comments until I put on the long reach bars.
Engine: Lots of grunt easily cruises in 6th @ 85. The gearing is smooth. 1st and 5th are spur gears so you will definitely know when your in either gear. But 2-3-4-6 are helicals and smooth and quiet. The only change I would like to see in the future is for MOCO to change 5 to helical as well. The windshield definitely captures the engine gear noise and it is far less noticable without the screen on.
Very happy with the bike as reflected in the miles I am running. Good luck with the Classic... I am sure you will enjoy it as much as I have
Have a 05 Custom , welcome to the club. Don"t like the bars, Replaced mine with reduced reach RK bars and love them. Seat has to go ,sundowner was my choice, like it so far. Enjoy the ride!
man it seems like nobody has picks of their rk customs, i finally got mine up, but we need to start representing on here. by far the best looking stock harley to me. im looking at seats now, im a picky bastard. trying to find a comfy low seat with back support that sits me back . i rode a buddies with a dual tour corbin, its real nice. i love the beach bars but will probabbly get some wild one chubbies that dont pull back as much. other than that, the ride is beautiful. a windshield makes things nicer on a long haul. but i bought the custom for its around town looks, with the pleasure of taking off on the interstate in pure comfort if the times right. good luck man..lets see some pics.
