Default Tail light assembly

Anyone tried putting a SG taillight assembly on a classic/ultra??? I do not like the looks of the stock 'long' bar on the rear. Catalog says for 08 or older.....nothing for the 2010's yet.

Tks

The reason there is nothing for the '10s I imagine is because you have a tail light, and we don't. Thus if you put our signal/light assembly alone on yours, it would leave a hole. Now, I am not sure why you couldn't use our brake/signal/tail assembly along WITH your tail light, to eliminate that ugly turn signal assembly on the other FL's. (And it would give you just a little bit more visibility from the rear.)

Stop by an HD store's parts counter or PM Dawg for the p/n's used for the turn signals used on the '09 and '10 CVO Ultras. It looks like the same piece used on the '09 and older SG, and should be fine for your bike.

You can compare the p/n from the CVO Ultras to the those in the HD bullet turn signal license plate relo kit and see if they're the same. The turn signal mounting location is the same for '08 and newer years.

I'm running the turn signals from an '09 SG on my Limited. I was hoping to use the SG plate mount, since the turn signal bar has an integrated plate light, but the wiring harnesses are different, and there's nowhere to plug that light in on the brake light. It's probably just a matter of tracing and rewiring the brake light plug, but I haven't gotten around to it.

Thanks for the replies, guys. I just want to replace the turn signal bar for the sg narrower one. I will do some more investigating.

remember modcobra the 09 and newer had a wider fender than the 08 and earlier, and the angle/width with how it mounts might be different.

And if you find that the earlier SG setup fits/works. I have a complete setup for sale with smoke/grey lenses lay down style tail lens and led's for stop. Includes the plate bracket that mounts the plate below the tail light with correct plate lite set up. Pm me if interested.
