Default turtlewax black box?

I just seen that turtlewax has a black theme cleaner, wax and detailer. I have a vivid black bike, but have the annv year with the stripe. Would it be safe to use it or should I avoid it. Trying o get my biking looking good before the season really kicks in. Thanks

All of these waxes are good but not great. The best wax for our use is a product called Zymol. It's not cheap but is an outstanding wax. It lasts longer then other waxes and gives a great shine. Blacks really sparkle. I have Red Hot Sunglo and the wax really kicks the metal flake.

This wax was originally designed for classic cars an planes. I've tried them all on my boats, cars, and bikes and this is the best. I find it all auto supply stores at about $16 for bottle.

Zaino is also a superb product. Have used it on many vehicles... Super easy to apply and remove, super protection from UV, can be applied in sunlight, long lasting. Two or three drops do the entire gas tank. Similar for fenders, fairings etc.

Do a search. There was a recent thread on this subject and quite a few people liked it.

Default love the black box

I purchased the turtle wax black box based on reviews from this forum. As usual i was not dissapointed and found it to be the best product for a black bike that i have used this far. I got it at oreillys and paid about 20 bucks for the whole kit. It is easy to use. I would imagine it would be ok to use on pin stripes. Try it and then update us. My only dissapointment is now i have to clean the chrome too!! Just makes like harder. Good luck and let us know what you decide.

Crash!!!

I bought this also after recommendations from this forum. I was not impressed. My Meguiars paste wax does just as good of a job and it's a one step process, not three like the Black Box. Not sure why you are concerned about the pin stripe on your bike, isn't the pin stripe under the clear coat? The Black Box is just a colored wax. I think the Meguiars or Zymol are just about the best you can buy. I think the Black Box is designed for pretty neglected surfaces where you have fading or scratches to fill. I had some light scratches on my saddlebags and you can still see them after the Black Box application. My opinion, it was a waste of $20. I should have just bought some Zymol like before but I was drawn in by the Black Box name.

I just tried the Black Box today and liked it. My vivid black looks better than it did when I picked it up at the dealer. I attached some pics of the reflection in the saddle bag. Its from a cell so its not the greatest but you get the idea.

I've used everything from A to Z, ArmorAll to Zaino to Zymol. This stuff is different in that it fills all the small scratches in the Vivid Black. Many of those other waxes actually HIGHLIGHT the scratches and show them more.

Three step process???? Whatever. You don't have to use the cleaner of the detailer if it's too much trouble. Get real.

I also found that is works like magic on my unpainted inner fairing. I posted pictures in the other thread. Too much trouble to do it all again.

BTW, it won't hurt pinstripes. It doesn't leave a hint of a residue in cracks like some other waxes.

And for all you Zaino zealots . . . I've used Z for years and it is great wax but this is better for black.

JMO . . . for what it's worth. Spend the $20 and find out for yourself.

i wonder if this will work well on my BUELL xb12r. All the paint is on plastic instead of metal. Any thoughts?
