I installed the HD module that turns the rear turn signals into run and brake lights. Once I tracked down the wiring harness it was an easy plug-in. The back of the bike lights up real nice now.
I experimented with some 15 light red "super bright" LED bulbs that I bought from Advanced Auto. Surprisingly, they were not nearly as bright as the regular light bulbs. I have the same LED bulb in my brake light and it works better in there, but still not as bright as I want.
I keep reading these posts on the BAL tail lights. If they were not overpriced I'd buy one today. No way is a tail light worth over $200 or $400. JMHO.
You need to be careful about combining the run/brake/turn module with LED kits. The LED kits have a built in what I think is a ballast that acts as a direct short when in series with the run/turn/brake module.
