My 04 RK custom has some vibration up to 60 mph.It was real bad and I put in the new harley front mount and it help quit a bit.
Anyone using the glide pro front mount
I have a mikuni carb with bassini true duals, the motor is stock.I have been told by some that the bassini pipes are causing some of the vibration and that it would be better to go back to the stock setup and use some slip ons. They say the bassinis are a waste of money on a stock motor since it is a step tuned system.
Any thoughts would be helpful.
Thanks
Jim
Jim,
I went through the motor mount recently and after a few diff brands I ended up going to Glide Pro and love it. It's as close to the old style HD mount as I've found. It took a little while to get the torque right and I used 20 ft-lbs.
Also, I have Rineharts and they definately added some vibs so I'd imagine the Bassanis would also.
My advice is to stop listening to "they". Exhaust systems do not cause vibration - at least none that I've ever put on ever have. They pretty much all use the stock mounts and locations. Never tried the Glide-Pro but I'm about to pull the trigger on their entire system and give it a try.
glide pro has been great! I only have the anti sway spindle and bushings, but I intend to get the front mount as well.
Nothing but the tops as far as service and product!
