I was there in May 08 and it was perfect then. 80's and sunny. Any later and you're in the 90's and 100's. I'm sure fall would be nice though too.
I was in Az for work (5/2/2010) and added in a ride. We got north of phoenix to Sedona. The temps were pretty cold this week. We actually had some flurries on the way back down from 6K feet. I had never been to Sedona, what a great ride that is.

What kind of "3 hour wait?" I will be traveling through there in June. Do you mean 3 hours to get into the park? Isn't that something that should be avoided on an air cooled bike?
According to News last night it will effect traffic coming fr. the East off Hwy. 89. You can still tour the Park fr. the West Entrance or just expect construction fr. the East but you can still go thru. The tunnel is a blast so it's worth the wait and you may see some Desert Sheep at the Checker Board area.
