Default Road Glide Throttle Wrist

I trade in my 2005 Softail for a 2010 Road Glide and now after 30 miles or so my right hand wrist hurts and my finger tips go feel numb. I had no problem with going 150 miles at a time with the Softail but now with the the new Road Glide I have this problem. Not sure if I need larger grips or what the problem is. I tried to reach further forward when I grab the throttle but have the same problem. Thank God for the Crusie even on windy back roads.

Anyone else having thsi problem? And what did you do to solve it.

I had the same problem when I first rode mine home from the dealer (130 miles). Put different grips on....................problem solved.

I tend to believe the spring loosens up a little over time.
Or maybe my wrist got stronger?

Doesn't bother me anymore like it did for the first 2-300 miles.

You use cruise control on the twisties? Either you're riding awfully slow or you're takin the turns at an impressive speed.

I put on bars from the '93 Wide Glide (HD part# 56079-93). Nice pull back (6.5 "), a bit more narrow than stock and a mini (10") ape. Much, much better!

$60 well spent and the original cables fit...

Whatever you choose, be very certain you have clearance past the fairing with full right and left turn and that the storage lids will clear as well.

Try a throttle rocker or crampbuster. Do a google search...they are cheap, but effective; I have used one for years....

I agree.

But I have to say, the TBW throttles suck a**!!!

The '07 and earlier bikes with throttle cables sure have a much more natural feel. You have to pull against the throttle spring, but due to the push-pull throttle cables, there's a bit of resistance, or dampening, also. It's easy to be smooth with the throttle.

Not so with the TBW. All you're pulling against is spring tension. I really don't like it. I've been thinking about making some delrin rings to add just a little resistance between the throttle tube and the handle bar.

I have the same issue, am going with Performance Machine Inc's Renthall grips. Smallest grips you can put on our bars. Has helped all of my buddies bikes.
