Default 95" Build ..............what do you think?

Here is my current planned modifications -

SE flat top 95" pistons
bore out my cylinders
Big Boys Head Porting
Andrews 26G gear drive cams

I already have installed -

'06 Rinehart True Duals
Ness Big Sucker
PCIIIusb

Do those components look like a good combination?

The cams are the biggest decision.......there are so many variables and choices. If I could find more info on the HQ-0034G, I might go with it. But it seems like nobody has it, or they just aren't talking about it.

Go with the Kuryakyn hi-compression pistons and the Kuryakyn 26G cam. You will not be dissapointed, otherwise your combo sounds good. You are in the same spot I was in awhile ago, after talking to Mike Roland at World Class Tuning, I am glad I took his advice. I was afraid of the Hi-compression pistons, yet they work fine with 91 octane gas if tuned right.

I have to agree with Jeepster. High compression is the way to go. I have 8000 miles on mine and not a single problem.

Is there a better cam for the build?

Andrews 37G?
S&S 570G?

I'm using the 95" SE Flattops..........so I need to do the cam around that.

Cam selection should be based on how you ride the bike, the type of bike, RPM range you ride in etc... The compression ratio should be decided by the cam. Since you already decided on flat top pistons, there are other ways to set your compression ratio such as milling the heads, if needed for the cam selection.

Feel free to give Bean a call and discuss the options with him.

I need to get up to Augusta and talk with Bean.

My riding style is fairly aggressive, redline does happen now&then, and I'm a good size guy (265lbs). So the combination of a big/heavy bike, my size, and my riding style.........I'm open to any suggestions to get my close to 100/100 on a tight budget.

Steve ~

Do you have any idea what compression ratio Rowland is suggesting for the 2G's?

I was curious about that myself.

You can get what ya want w/o high compression, and unless you don't the occasional start clutch replacement... I would not build anything at or above 10:1. I know compression makes power and "if you use compression releases"... yada yada yada... but, you WILL experience the starter clutch problem at some point if you go over 10:1. and you can bet you won't be close to home when it fails.....

I'm guessing I'll be right around 9.8:1 - 10:1.

The TC-2G, from what I've read, like 10.5:1.

So I might have to change my cam plans to an Andrews 26g or 37g.

If it wasn't for the chain tensioners...........I'd go with a SE203 or SE211.

Local dealer is running a special - 95" big bore kit with SE203 cams for $1699. I'd like to do all my own work(as much as I can) and get it all done for under $1500. That way I can get it dyno-tuned once and save there also.
