What are you riding Leftcoaster? I'm guessing a bagger if your top speed is 112? My softail would go 120 in 5th with its stock engine on a good day. Now that it's built 120 is nothing

'06 95" Streetglide
Electra Glides have always had a disadvantage with all of the frontal area and weight as compared to something like a Heritage - plus softails are geared different (taller). As an 88"-er it would hit a wall at about 105. It'd still pull up to 110-115 but it took forever. After the AC, Rineharts and PCIII it'd go right up to 112 and slowly pull it's way up to 120. It storms right past 120 now and I've found the handling limits of the chassis more than once.
My brother's stock (except for Thrush slip-ons) '09 Streeter hits the same wall at 105 and might climb to 108 on a good day.

That's interesting... At about 120 things are going by pretty fast, I dont spend much time up there, just nice to know that I can get there easily now, and probably 20 mph + more than that. I'll find a nice smooth road to put that to the test!

I thought rev limiters were like shift lights telling you when it is time?

I used to hit it every once in a while on the TC88, but then I realized that you can get more speed by shifting earlier.

(NOT!)
