imskier,

You need to get into the trip planning business. That looks great.

Did basicaly the same loop last summer, starting out from Wyoming.Only change I'd make would be to head south on 93 at Twin Falls Id. to Ely Nv. Stay at the Nevada Hotel and Casino, they love Bikers there.Supposedly the oldest hotel in Nevada 40.00 per night rooms.Head east on 50 through Grreat Basin NP then Ut 21 over to S.Utah unless you have to go thru SLC.Not much to see on I 84 or I 15.

I have done close to the same ride a couple of times, can't see the details of your map, but there not many non-freeway choices through UT, ID and OR that go straight through. 395 through CA is almost as nice as going down the coast. Should be a good time of year to do it. Cops in OR are the least forgiving of all those states :-)

I think you're nuts; most of that ride is though the desert and it will be dangerously hot, not just uncomfortable, but HOT; like in the 100's -115/118 degrees

Just under 3000 miles but probably will take a few side trips in Idaho

I live in the Arizona desert, have for 60 years, been riding bikes of some kind for 50 years in the desert, Those temps are normal for me and many others like me. But thanks for the heads-up.

That looks like a great route. I love riding the 395. The wife and I rode up to Tahoe and spent a week riding around. I ride the desert a lot too. If you know what you are doing it's not to bad but a break down would suck. Keeping hydrated is a job in itself. Donner pass should be open unless a freak storm hits.
