I went with the SE103 kit with 255 cams.Made a big difference I could tell before I left the parking lot. Plus my warranty is still good.

I recently installed a Stage 2 103 in my 2010 RK along with a PCV and auto-tune, the increase in performance and torque is very noticeable. I purchased the kit new for @ $600, a lot of bang for the buck, for my style of riding It is everything I need.

just ordered the se stage IV

these are my thoughts and hope im right??

doing it myself, cams looks like an easy job and im almost there might as well get it done?

cant find much online about jugs,tb,acr but w/manuel and takeing my time, still researching and might end up doing it next winter. It all looks easy after pipes come off that is.

The se kit #27516-08a(07's) also has a heavier spring for the clutch so good time to add the se compansator and cr while the tops appart, will just plain help save the starter too, dont need adjustable push rods...And dont need to crack open the case witch is a little too much for my mechanical/time level.

what started as a 6-8 hundred dollar choice ended up being 28 witch includes the:se comp,ARC and harness,se 58mm pro air filter, se training cd to tune, cables to pc and pro tune cd (cause unless i have an ace tuner do it im not takin my chances),thats with the special tools, bearing puller im barrowing. And to top it off crome bolts all 3 covers. All bought online.

Good thread and good luck!

BTW
basically trashing my 7 yr warrenty

Find a good head porter, tell him your cam choice do the heads for the cam, you cant go wrong. Also find a good tuner

I did the 103 Stage 2/D&D Fat Cat/Heavy Breather/SEST on my '10 SG before delivery. I'm real happy with the results.

Here's the dyno sheet:

I have to stop by the shop this weekend and get the updated sheet. I had a weird problem with throttle response. Apparently the base map that they tuned from got corrupted during the upload to the bike. They redid the tune and re-dynoed. It's hard to tell how it effected the power. The throttle response is amazing now, whre initially it stumbled bad off of idle.

Absolutely, 100% and then some. You'll probably outrun a stock 103 or a 110 anyday. But hey there's always the mentality that bigger is better and if they want to spend the money, well that's what keeps the moco in biz.

Also if you do the Stage II be sure to add the compression releases, I have never had a problem starting my bike but several on this forum have, I would have done it if I knew of the problem when I did my kit. Seems like cheap insurance not to have to do it down the road or worry about replacing starters.
I too did a stage II 103 kit with SE 255 cams and D&D Boss Fatcat. I opted not to do the heads. The estimated benefit was six horsepower and 6 torque at a cost of approx $1000 to do the heads and throttle body. Since torque was my primary goal, I didn't see porting the heads and throttle body as offering much for the investment.

As noted in my signature line, the stock HP was 68 and the stock TQ was 84. Bike now makes 92 HP and 106 TQ and my total cost for the project was in the $3200 zone (all the parts listed in my signature and dyno tuning included).

Just in case anyone is interested, I have one of these kits complete, cylinders. pistons. AC kit, cams, HD clutch spring, and complete engine gasket kit all new in the HD/SE box listed in the classifieds for $475(retail almost $900) Would only require Air Cleaner back plate swap tfor use on 09 FBW bike. Those backplates can be had for about $25. Hurry though if you want it. It's listed on ebay and I won't end auction once bid is placed. 11 watchers now less than 3 days remain, someone is gonna get antsy and bid pretty soon. Get it before that happens!
