can anyone give me the procedure for rapping a baffle to quiten it. I tried this by useing auto type fiberglass rapped around the baffle, and rapping wire around it to secure. The problem is that after only 30 mins. most of the material had blown out and the noise was back. What did I do wrong.

 

I used some stainless steel steel wool to wrap a V&H Propipe. I secured it with stainless steel screen wire and stainless steel wire. The other thing I used once, was the insulation matt that is used a around an oven, not the fiberglass type, but the stuff that replaced asbestos. I secured it the same way. On my V&H Ovals, The insides were modifyed with a different baffle desigh to quiet them. After 2 years they are still the same.

 

at 1st i bought some at local dirt bike shop smelled like fish.now grant u i like fish but not my exhaust. went on ebay ordered some 13 bucks wrapped 2 baffles sorry do not have site ..baffle insulation punch in....

 

my baffle is about 6 inches total length with a divider between after the 4" point. Thats where I put the material. After a 30 min. ride all the packing had been forced into the 2" section part. Is this where the rapping goes anyway?
