Default Won a MSF course.......

a few weeks ago, took the class this past weekend. Even with many years of experience, still learned some new tecniques and brushed up on some classroom instruction. With the insurance discount over the next three years, the class pays for itself.

And now for the best part, 13 students (4 that had never been on a bike), 13 bikes and one of those wouldn't start. I just happened to show up on mine, so signed a waiver and they let me use my Ultra.

Worst thing was the course, was set up for 320 lb, GL 250's

I dont think he's taking a road test, just using the course for insurance discount and a refresher.

I did pass and did all the testing just as if I where there trying to get ready for a license.
Used the "big boy bike" as the instructor took to calling it, the whole time.

I have the Ride like a Pro DVD so doing the figure 8 and such was not a prob during the 20 times we ran through, but sure as hell, my one shot during the test, I crossed the line and lost a couple of points.

People get spooked by the size of an Ultra. Truth be told, I can do the S-turn "box" easier on the Limited than I can on the Night Train.

I agree, the S turn box was fun and the Ultra ate it up, clutch, throttle and a little extra rear brake and she walked right thru.

Went through ERC on the Ultra a couple of months ago and had no problem with the figure 8 box. Actually the instructors told us the people who have the most problems are the ones who come through on sport bikes because they don't have enough speed in there to lean enough to turn in the required radius.

Good course and nice brush up session.

Ya did real well by doing that on a Ultra. Wouldnt have done that welll with mine. Think all would have been ok except for the tight area of the figure's. And thats one good deal here in Pa, the motorcycle is free to us here.

You would be surprised, a little practice and theres nothing to it. I walked off the U Turn and Figure 8 and it was 18' or the same as two parking spaces wide in a standard parking lot.
