About how much higher and does it make you feel as though you are sitting on the bike as opposed to in the bike?
I'd say around 3/4" to 1" higher and yes it makes me feel like I'm sitting on the bike more so than in the bike. I'm currently using the new stock "low" Harley seat on my bike and it definitely sits lower and you feel like you are sitting in the bike.
I will say though, the mustang regal touring seat is very comfortable going down the road and I could ride all day without my butt giving me any problems. But, I prefer to sit down in the bike.
You need to call Mustang and talk to them about the new super touring seats they just came out with. They are supposed to sit you lower and further back than the stock seat.

I have the 1-piece touring on 2nd bike - 2007 Electra glide Classic - which came off a 2004 EGC. Total miles on the seat - around 50K+.
1. The seat seems to sit me up a little higher than stock. Not sure how much.
2. I seem to be a little closer to handlebars. So guess it moves me forward some.
3. The seat is wider in the nose than Mustangs website leads you to believe. When stopped and flatfooted, it presses against my thighs. I can tell the difference here.
4. When new, the seat is like sitting on a rock. It takes about 1,500 miles to get broken in and then it's great.
5. First thing wife said when we got the '07 EGC and she rode about 40 miles or so on stock seat was, "You are putting the Mustang on the new bike, right?". It went on that day.
