Default What do you think?

Installed V and H dresser duals with Jackpot dyno tuned,PCV, and Breather all from Fuel Moto. It is raining here so in all fairness I haven't hit the street for a true test. Friday I should be able to do so !

OK! Started the bike and everything seems good except bike is idling at 1500 rpm instead of around 1000. After warming for several minutes it drops off to the 1000 area. Never had one do that? Then it doesn't seem to be real smooth on idle it kind of pulses? Twist the throttle and it is kind of splatty! I don't know how else to describe it. There doesn't appear to be any exhaust leaks but how do you suggest I better check that? Do you think it is the map?

I will call the guys at Fuel Moto on Friday after I get it out and see what they think? If any of you have thoughts or opinions on this let me hear from you....

I should have said this was installed on a 2010 FLHX...my wife's bike.

I have a 2010 Limited that I installed the PCV,Breather and Jackpots from Fuel Moto and it sounds and seems to perform great! In fairness though I have only been able to log about 100 miles on this setup! I am still awaiting their headpipe which should be here any time now.

I'll keep you posted on how this turns out...Thanks!

The Fuel Moto guy will take care of you! Sounds like the map is off a little. The high idle sounds normal my truck does that when cold then idles down. The splatty sounds like the maps off put could be the V&H duals should have gotten the Fuel Moto headers. LOL

I probably should have gotten the 2/1/2 headers from fuel moto but it was going to cost about $300 more to convert the Street Glide for that! The wife will never really need or use the better performance of the 2/1/2 pipe so I went the cheaper route. I figure the map will have to be adjusted. For me that means taking the PCV off and in the house to do whatever download. This is when I wish I had a laptop! OH WELL!

Sun is supposed to shine tomorrow so maybe I can get this figured out with the help of FUEL MOTO!

Time for a little update! Both the Limited and the Street Glide idle at 1500 rpm upon warm up then settle in at 1000. My limited runs great and sounds great and I haven't even put the 2/1/2 fuel moto headpipe on yet! It's here but haven't goten to that! I hope it doesn't get a lot louder with the headpipe change as it really is perfect sounding now.

The wife finally got to ride her Street Glide yesterday, first time since exhaust install! Rode 110 miles last night after work and we think it is probably a little too loud! I'll have to call Fuel Moto and find out about quieting the jackpots down a little. Since we put dresser duals on they sent me 2 right hand mufflers. It really barks when you get on it on uphill grades and such. On flat ground cruise it quiets down nicely. I'll see what FM has to say about it.

I installed all the stuff myself...not too bad of a job and I am not a mechanic! PCV was pretty easy even with cramming the connector in front of the battery....the air cleaner was fairly simple too! Only trouble I had was on the Limited as there is a wire loom mounted which restricts the reach of the allen wrench. The Street Glide didn't have that so my guess is that it is the connector for the ACR. Once I figured out to get that out of my way it was a piece of cake. The Dressser Dual install was not too bad except I wish they would tell you which direction to install the heat shield clamps and I had to replace the exhaust gaskets. I didn't much care for the exhaust gasket install but all seems to be OK!

I'll post again after I get the 2/1/2 headpipe installed and after I determine our path on quieting down the Street Glide!

I read here all the Time but don't post often! Lot's of knowledge and cool stuff!

Later, Curt

2/1/2 header installed! When tightening down the exhaust flange bolts it didn't leave much of the bolt exposed. The factory headpipes left more of the bolt exposed and so did my wife's V and H headpipes. Seems kind of strange but maybe that is just how the FM headpipe fits? Adjusting the heat shields was a pain...not really happy yet with their adjustment but I'll keep playing with them. Only been able to ride about 20 miles since the headpipe install...sounds good but I'll have to determine if it got too loud now! The volume definetly increased but won't know the effects until I ride a couple hundred miles!

The Street Glide runs good but not real happy with the exhaust note...At idle it is fine but going through the gears, downshifting and even at speed it sounds kind of splatty. Called Keith at FM and he set me up to make some adjustments but those didn't really help. I plan on contacting him Monday to see what else he has up his sleeve!

More Later!

Can you explain the 2 right hand mufflers? Not following that one.

Just got my black dresser duals for a 2010 FLH and the instructions do have a pic for the direction of the clamps.

Did you use the regular HD exhaust gaskets or the SE gaskets?

I used the regular HD exhaust gaskets.

Jackpot mufflers generally come with specified right and left....different size baffle. With true duals they recommended running with the 2 right hand baffles. I believe this only applies to Jackpot dyno tuned mufflers but I could be mistaken...?

My dresser dual instruction did not have a pic indicating clamp direction.
