I love the denim black on my 09 FLHT. As previous posters said, some shiny spots do pop up when something rubs, but there are more positives than negatives. I clean it with Windex then wipe the paint down with Harley Gloss as advised in owner's manual. Leaves a nice patina.

Just remember the denim paint is made to ware and age.
And you can't buff out any nicks and scratches being there is no clear coat.
That being said, I have absolutely no regrets on my black denim.

Good to hear, thanks for all the responses. This only confirms that it'll be a denim black Road Glide in the works for me in the near future. I've been sitting back for too long saying maybe next year. It's a shame they call denim a "color" and charge extra for it, but oh well.

I love the Denim paint. I just got home a little while a go and my bike was covered with bugs. I just sprayed a little Windex and wiped them off with a micro fiber. I love how easy it is to clean.

Thumbs up for black denim...looks bad-*** and makes the chrome really standout (although some guys go crazy and black the whole thing)..Yes minor scratches show and it will look worn, but that's part of the attraction.

Id bet the denim paint does have a clear coat and its a flat clear.. I dont see H/D spraying bikes with single stage when B/C is a better choice and more durable. The clear also gives UV protection. With a B/C paint even though the clear has a flattening agent in it you should also be able to wax it with no ill effects.. You shouldnt try polishing it with any compound though.

I love my Denim paint. By far the easiest to keep clean. I have found that Rain-X Auto Glass Cleaner works better on the bugs than Windex Glass Cleaner. Easier to clean = more time to ride!
