Default Touring Model Competition

Just wanted some feedback. Has anyone looked at the Victory motorcycles seriously? Just got an ad in my email. Went to sight for fun and watched a few vids on their new tourers competing with the RK and SG. I was impressed. I love my Road King but, why doesn't Harley make some changes to try to keep up with the competition? Or, are the Victories that mechanically flawed they can't measure up to a Harley? Love to hear opinions on this.

The average warranty costs of a Victory bike is $14.00.HD does not announce what theres is.I think the Vic. line is great but I get the feel of plastic with a closer look. The Vision needs a space suit to ride one.Yes the models competing with RG and SG are damn good looking and should run forever.Harley feels the Vic. coming, what will they do?

The Victory bikes are OK I guess. No way I'd ever own one though.

Hmm, well for one thing the Vics just don't do it in the looks department. The second thing is they don't feel as solid as a Harley. They do make better HP and the motors aren't as noisy and don't get as hot. Harley really needs to come out with a new generation of motors. The TC96 works but it's really falling behind the other air cooled V-Twin manufactures like Victory and Yamaha, as well as others.

When I ride a bike, I want to feel the passion of the bike. For me, Harley is the only bike that accomplishes that.

Harley has made considerable changes. Victory had the Brembo brakes first, then Harley got them. Harley also added fuel injection, six speed transmission, and six gallon tank. There's also a new frame.

They'll never equal Harley's dealer network but I am glad that Victory is there as I do believe that competition is good for the market and the consumer.
