Default CB question

I have read the manual and unless I missed it, I can't figure out how to have the CB on without having the radio music playing. I just want to try and use the CB with out anything else in the background.

Just turn the radio volume down.

The music radio volume can be turned down to mute. The CB volume level can be set while the display is on CB mode or while receiving a CB transmission. The music and CB volumes are independent of each other.

You can also select aux mode on the radio as long as you have nothing hooked to the aux jack.

The am/fm radio has to be on in order for the CB to work. That was a dumb design in my opinion.

thanks guys!! I was just in the mindset that the radio volume and the CB volume were one in the same, and not independant of each other as was just pointed out.

OK, I guess that was my dumb question for the month

Yea, I hate it when something has to be on to work.

On my Goldwing GL1800, the CB would work independently of the am/fm radio.

I reworded my post so you could understand it.

A quick way to get volume adjustment for the CB is to push the squelch button. This will temporarily put the radio system in CB mode and the CB volume can then be adjusted separately from the AM/FM volume. Otherwise, select COM from the radio front panel. In the first case the system will automatically revert to what ever it was set to before the squelch button was pushed. In the second case, the system stays in COM mode. In both cases, the CB volume can be adjusted separately from the AM/FM volume.

And if you read the posts in this thread the H-D CB does work independently of the AM/FM radio.
