I was hoping to get a little help with trying to decide on which brand of pipes that can give me the better bang for my buck in a stage 1 exhaust between Vance&Hines and BuB's7 for a 09 Road King.
I may be going into this backwards when purchasing an exhaust, but I am looking for a little more sound than performance, since I am only doing a Stage 1 for now. I definetly would like the 4 wheels vehicles near me when I am riding hear me!
VH Twin Slash slip-ons: $399-$500
Bub7's slip-on Mufflers : $400-$600
Those prices doesn't inlcude an air filter change and the tuner!
I vote for Bub for more sound. I can get them for you too. Just let me know which ones and I will price them out. i do have to call them for pricing. I can get you all the other stuff you need as well at a discount.
The Bub warranty is second to none as far as customer service goes. I have a brand new set of Bub 7's BNIB that they sent as replacements for the ones they had me destroy with a 8lb sledgehammer. Great sound and even without a air filter will give you a noticeable boost in the power band.
I have the black Bub TDs on my FLHX. If you are looking for sound, they are great. I too have been very happy with the performance. I also say, that even if I have lost some low end, I can keep up with my riding group, I am at the back of the group...buts it not because of speed.
This past weekend, i was thinking the bubs are not that loud, I had a friend ride my bike, ha....they sound great even when you are not on the bike...BTW I can hear my radio too.
