Default Need Help w/ Electrical Prob 2003 FLHRI

I could use some advice. I have an apparent electrical problem... Here's what happened:
1. Rode over 200 miles in the country today. Everything fine.
2. Stopped for lunch and filled up with gas. Back on the road. Everything fine.
3. Few minutes later tried to honk horn, but no horn.
4. Came to road intersection, pulled in the clutch, engine died.
5. I was still rolling so I popped the clutch and restarted the engine. Noticed Speedometer not working (stuck on 47 mph), no odometer at all, turn signals not working, tail light on but no brake lights.
6. Engine kept running, tach was working. Headlight working. Came to another intersection, pulled in clutch and engine died again. Popped clutch and it restarted.
7. Engine would run as long as I kept the idle up around 1200 rpm. Did not want to risk it not starting so I headed for home.
8. Rode about 125 miles without letting the engine die. Headlight never got dimmer...stayed bright.
9. Once home, I shut it down. It did start again, but barely. Will not idle.
10. Speedometer still indicating 47 mph.

If anyone can offer suggestions, I would appreciate any input. Thank you!

For starters, how old is the battery? Might have an issue with the charging system like a voltage regulator, stator, battery

Thanks for the input. Battery is about 2 yrs old. Also I have a Kuryakyn Panacea tail light system since the bike was new. Too tired to mess with it tonight. I will start digging into it tomorrow. If anyone is interested I will post what all I find.... Still could use some suggestions. Thanks
Ronnie

I would do a full charging system test and test the voltage regulator and stator. If all is good, I would look at the connections. Could be just a loose ground or battery connection.

Well I was wrong about the battery. I have had it longer that I thought. It is a 2005 version. Showing 12.3 volts, when starting it drops to about 9 volts , then to about 15 volts (or so) when the engine running...... Soooo I see a new battery in my future.

Also had a blown accessory fuze which explained the speedometer failure.
