Actually color was the thing that really made me think about getting the limited. The UC doesn't come in any colors that I loved, but I liked the vivid black enough to get it. I really wish there was a better color selection, I would have liked a solid merlot on the UC, or the black cherry pearl from other years. The bright colors that are in this year just didn't do anything for me.

I guess at this time I am glad I test rode it because it will give me a little more time to get situated to buy a newer model, I just thought that by test riding one I would fall in love with it & didn't expect what I felt. I like the Limited because of the options & figure in a couple of years I might be able to afford it & someone else will have it modded so I won't have to go out & spend thousands more to have it the way I want it. I don't want to go spend 25000.00 for a new bike & have to do a bunch of mods just so that I will like it. If I wanted to spend money on mods, I can do that till my heart is content with my 99. I was looking at the fact that a fat tire, bigger engine & a 6 spd would run me around 15000.00, taking that money & putting into a new Limited makes more sense & I would have a warranty, newer style frame, better injection system, 6 gal fuel tank, bigger axles & chrome wheels & more. My bike being worth maybe 10,000.00, maybe less. Anyway the math works out until I have to change out the exhaust & change the tune. The heel shifter is no problem I can change that, just was disappointed that they had it set up that way. If I didn't know you could lower it, that would be off in a heartbeat. But I know better & I like the heel shifter (since I crushed that foot a couple of years ago). Some day I am going to park it next to my Ultra & see if I can figure out what it is that is different, but I am sure that I can get used to it. For those that have them, I am envious & wish I could afford one now (I would change the things I didn't like).

With what I know and what I've read I pretty much have the Limited set up in my mind.

Stage 2 with SE 255 cams, Fat Cat or SuperMeg exhaust, AC, TTS tuner, and a Le Pera Maverick seat. Sending the stock one to MCC would also be an option. I sit more forward on the new UC and Ultra Limited so the bars would be ok I think.

Wish I could pick up one of the new Limited's. They are sweet.

No comparison between a new 2010 Limited and a 1999 UC. There are probably a thousand different changes between the two.

That's what I thought, & some of the changes are definitley good. More time on it may be what is needed. Do you think they will let me take it for a few days, lol.

The last bike I bought from a dealer said I could rent one of whatever I was interested in and if I bought a bike afterward they wouldn't charge me for the rental. I thought that was a good way to get someone on a bike.

I think you would have to prove you could buy it first.

I just recently pulled the trigger on a 10 Ultra Limited. I traded in my 07 Ultra Classic, and I did notice a few differences between the two bikes. First of all, I had a State II 103" kit and Rinehart true duals on my 07 Ultra Classic, and had several other little chrome goodies. I did notice the Limited sits a bit higher and I liked how the new, "throttle by wire" felt. I was pretty surprised that even though the bike is choked down pretty bad with all the EPA stuff, it still pulled good. Yes, it did sound like a Honda, but that can be easily solved,.....lol I could have easily went with an Ultra Classic in vivid black, but by the time I added all the things that I like from the Limited I would have spent way more than the sticker price difference. I honestly think the biggest thing that I noticed was that the Limited didnt have the "shake" that I had from my Ultra Classic. I know that it was due to the Limited having milder cams, but I kinda liked the feeling while sitting at a red light. I plan on putting on some exhaust and doing a stage I and I'm pretty confidant that will be all I need to do to wake up that 103". In my opinion the best thing that Harley has done in years is by putting ABS brakes on their bikes,... Yes I know they are on other models and have been an option for a couple years now, but this is my first bike with ABS and I think that they need to be standard on every touring Harley.

Rode my cousin in laws Ultra & it felt simular to the Limited. With both bikes sitting side by side, it looks as though my 99 UC is about an 1" lower F&R. But I pulled off my opaque windshield & put on my clear one, & I think that was bothering me the most. That & the way they have the shifters set up. All easy enough to get use to.

A 1999 UC is not worth $10K, a lot, lot less!

I test rode a limited a couple weeks ago and loved it. And I havent rode in 4 or 5 years. And even then I had a lil 750 honda. The only things that "bugged" me were the heat on the right side and finding neutral was a little hard. I figured I would get use to it though. Otherwise I was comfortable with it as soon as I left the lot. Man I cant wait till tax time....
