What do you think about these shields. I'm looking at the funky super step contour. Part of me is like I don't care what it looks like if it works buy it. another part of me is like, I don't know looks kinda funky to me. I cut my stocker down to 9" Sight line is great but the wind makes the helmet vibrate on my head should've stopped at 10.
I first heard about them from a review on this forum. I liked the look right off [how it follows the line from the nose of the fairing] and wanted one for my bike. I bought a 13" to replace my stock windshield which had been cut down to 9" also. I got it in the dark tint and I couldn't be happier with its performance. It really does quiet the ride down behind the fairing by smoothing the airflow.
One of the forum members on the arena changed his mind once he saw mine in person. He saw the pictures I posted, but said it looks much better in person than it does in pictures.
The only negative I can think of with these is you won't be able to run a windshield mount bag.
I have one that I listed on ebay for sale, it does work great. It just doesn't go with the "look" of my bike. Used very little and a whole lot cheaper than a new one.
I have the 15" clear on our '05 Ultra. Works great and looks great also. I was skeptical at first as I did not think anything would help with helmet buffeting, but they truely work well. We have a black bike and a black shield would really look sharp, but I prefer to see more in front of the bike so I picked clear.
I got one and absolutely LOVE it. I get all kinds of comments on it too and all good. Pricey??? Compared to what? Runs in the same ball park as O/E windsheild.
I've got the 10" SSC shield on my electra glide standard and love it. It gets rid of the buffeting and I get alot of compliments on it hear in eastern tn. I bought mine with the black opaque color and it's really made a difference in the hot weather and also the occasional rain I get stuck in on the way to work. I found it to be much cheaper than the oem HD shields and it's really a great improvement.
