It's not a french thing, it a joke in our riding group, some love flat black and powder coating, some love chrome and white wall, some love "bling bling". You have to take it at the second level (good expression?) not at the first one

I agree, it's your bike, do what you want to it. I'm not fond of some of the bikes I see on here, but everyone has different tastes. That's one of the reasons I like Harleys so much, there are a million different ways to customize them and make them your very own.
By the way, I think they make a fuel door as well in that collection.
I've always wanted to tour the French countryside on a Harley. Maybe someday.

For the fuel door, it will be too much
and in fact i prefer to add Yaffe tank panel wich is more my taste.

Nope don't like it all. But that what makes us all different. I'm sure there are things about my ride you wouldn't like either.

It's not the look for me but to each his/her own. When I got the tassles for my levers, my wife said "Well, those look gay". I said

To be truthful, I don't care for them, but it's your motorcycle and you can damn well fix it up the way YOU like it, to heck with everyone else.

Now I like BLING, don't get me wrong. And I grew up as a toddler in Paris, so I am ok with France too. BUT I prefer my bling on my jewelry. Diamonds certainly aren't only for women. I have a very nice diamond pinkie ring left to my dad by his Uncle Mike and left to me by my dad. It looks good on your bike though..And if you like it, that is all tha matters. Most of the guys I know do not like my denim red paint, but for me there is no other...thats what makes Harley's so cool, when you're done, it is uniquely your own!
