i have a question, on a 2006 road glide , if i put slipons will i need the air filter kit and download.
Nope. Go with slip ons and enjoy the sound/rumble.
When you've got the money, add an AC, and PCIII/SERT or the like.
I've not heard anything good about the HD download, but that's your call.
I added just the slipons and the bike started running much hotter and when I checked the plugs it was very lean. I have an 06 roadglide and added SE pro slipons. Now everyone said you need not flash the ECM or add a fueler and I also believed that would be the case. but with the bikes running so lean from the factory due to EPA I think the slipons just put it over the edge. now I know alot of people will disagree but having done this just last week I can say you should do it all at the same time. I added a ness bug sucker and the cobra fi2000 and now the bike is running much cooler and the plugs are looking good. It is only about a 20 minute job to change the slipons so put them on, put in new plugs, and see for yourself.

ANY mods you do to the 2006's, exhaust, hi flow filters, ect. will make it run too lean. They are on the lean side right from the factory. If you install slip ons it will need some kind of fuel management, don't waste your money on the HD download. Sorry but I learned the hard way, but I'm very happy with the results. The Rhinehart slipons sound great and the bike runs great with Stage 1 and the Sert. I just did 4200 miles in 9 days and averaged 43 to 45 miles per gallon at 75 and 80 mph.
I rode around for about a week with just the SE slip-ons. My bike ran great. Once I did enough reading I installed the SE air cleaner and downloaded a canned MAP from the SERT disk, the bike really came alive. I just went 186 miles before the low fuel light came on. Really don't need to downshift to pass, Just roll the power on. Once I'm confident about changing MAPs I'll move some numbers around to try more improvement.
